Several postcards I have of Rodborough Fort show what appears to be a May Pole at the bottom of the common.

One example is this postcard postmarked 18 Aug 1915. Th elatest postmark on a post card showing the May Pole is in the 1930s shown below.

Does anyone know when and for how long this May Pole was in place for?

Probably the oldest postcard I have of Rodborough Fort. Although postally unused I estimate this to have been taken around 1890.

Francis Frith have a post card in their collection which is dated as 1890. This is shown below and can be bought from their web site.

This is a delightful edwardian postcard of Rodborough Fort.
The artist is A R Quinton, who did many such pictures for the Tuck Oilette series of postcards.This postcard is printed and published by J. Salmon, Sevenoaks #2775.
