Tim and Clare were up for the weekend. They took a picture of us over lunch.
Bits and pieces
This photos is taken from the identical vantage point as the AR Quinton postcard (http://www.flickr.com/photos/angust/9963018/) Indeed the similarities are so great it would appear that the painting was based on the photograph.
Several postcards I have of Rodborough Fort show what appears to be a May Pole at the bottom of the common.

This is a delightful edwardian postcard of Rodborough Fort.
Interesting postcard of Rodborough Fort showing the main entrance. It would appear to be taken around 1900 and is I believe a Frith's photograph.
